Yeah, I think most hard core HPDE guys aren't the ones with Lambo's and McLaren's.

Yes, this track seems to be privately funded. Probably why we haven't seen a big media campaign and asking for money. Rock on, and looking forward to it being ready!
Lots of info in this article CLICK ME
Interesting tid bit:
The complex, developed by PF Racing, will include a challenging and demanding asphalt paved track, a dirt tri-oval, a truck off-road track, and trail and rally courses. One unique feature of the raceway is a 58-bay car garage made from renovated turkey barns that were on the property; the garage will be a fully functioning maintenance center for race cars.
Great news!
Makes me think, though. Race tracks like this are a major investment. If our sport and the general interest in cars is slowly dying, as we've been told, then how are people justifying the new tracks we've seen in the past ~10 years or so?
I'm eager to see how this track is used and what sanctioning bodies put on events. It's a days haul for me but it's just the kind of track I like with elevation changes and technical corners.I'll put an event there on my schedule if they host one I have (or can borrow) a car for.
I'm excited for this track. It's 6 and half hours away from me but it looks cool as hell. I think the bigger issue for it is going to be food and lodging. The good thing about building it out in the hills away from civilization is people won't be complaining about the noise. The problem is youre away from civilization.
Although High Plains is about 20 minutes past BFE and they seem to do alright.Maybe I'm wrong. If you build it they will come.
Food and lodging??!!! This is the lake of the ozarks! All the lodging and food/booze options you can shake a stick at!
Plenty of places to grab a pina colada during lunch.

Every time I race at High Plains I think about buying a trailer with living quarters in it. That drive in to the track at 0 dark hundred in the morning is no fun for this non-morning person.
My parents have a place a few minutes (guessing without an address or GPS coordinates). This is so exciting.
Edit: It is a 16 minute drive from their place, which is only 1.5 hours from me.
I'm also pretty excited about this as it's not terribly far from home and I grew up driving down the road it's on (Highway 135) as a kid on the way to my Grandparents' place at the Lake. We called it "The Hill Road" because the terrain made it quite the adventure ride (my Mom could REALLY make some time on that road). All that to say...it's really in a great spot for a track.
While it's not super close to the resort side of the lake...I would assume lodging won't be a terrible drive for those that need it.
I've been wanting to invest in a rental house at the lake (long term). This might help me drive the decision for where at the lake to buy ;)

there is on the other side of the lake. Not sure how far that is.

There are lots of houses to rent all over. There are also plenty of resturants on the west side of the lake too.

Once my kids have graduated from high school I'm seriously thinking of selling the house and moving close to the track.
Assuming it's still there.
And I'm still alive.

Cool. The closest I've been through there was in the C10 on the way home from AZ we were on 54. That was in 2017 and I gotta be honest by that point in the trip we were getting a little punch drunk
Interview with JR Pesek on Ozark International Raceway. They hope to start testing on the track in July and first amateur events in August.

He mentioned in that interview they hope to have motorcycle series, so perhaps we can hope for Track Days...
Champcar let it slip that they are look8ng to get a date there next year.
If the track is as good as it looks, I'll be making the drive!
I'm really excited for this. It's a little over an hour from my house, so I'll definitely end up down there occasionally.
