That's pretty interesting, but the article is light on details. Hopefully we can get a better look of the racer soon.

Agreed. But the David in this case had a father who had an advantages over the Porch guys

And Clint is a many times winner at the Peak in everything from motorcycles to stock cars, making his former stock car into an open wheeler by removing the body and adding wings. His father was also a many times winner in stock cars and trucks. Both always have very well prepared race cars and are outstanding drivers.
Why does the writer of the article keep having to virtually insult the looks and indirectly the engineering and the creator of the the car when ever possible? Really rubbed me the wrong way. Not a very flattering article. Almost like he was a but hurt Porsche Fanboy that was forced to wright it.
It really is, from what information I could glean, just his old Mustang race car with the bodywork all chopped off and a new cage and big wings. Here's some more pictures of it from past years.
And the previous Mustang race car that I think he modified to make it.
I kinda got obsessed with this car about a year ago. I even started building a Lego representation of it. (Haven't figured out the rear wing or back of the cage just yet, and some of the colors are also incorrect.)
