Yikes!  With all of the loose nuts and bolts in there that must have been like a fragmentation bomb.  Hope everyone survived.

That's why my voice was a bit shakey as I talked in the video:  I was nervous to cut into it.....   (did you hear the engine bog down as I cut?)

I'll post some pics of the surviving pieces tonight.  But one thing's for sure, it was certainly FUN.  Thanks!

The package I assembled was still a bit loose inside and using packing material seemed contrary to the spirit of the event. I finally found enough items to make it solid. Will ship today!

I've always been a bit hazy on that.  The appeared approved method is to use packing material that doubles as a gift- i.e. shop rags, work gloves, tube socks, used underwear, wads of rubber bands....

Ok, here we go.

Using the universal razor :

slicing open like a surgeon to reveal:

Wow, quite the stuffed box!

Lets take inventory:

Can of 3M edge sealer (what is that?) Used for Vinyl Wrap edges, and stickers. I ended up with 2 cans so I figured I'd pass it on. To be honest, it didn't work very well for me, but maybe it was technique.

Rainy day fund piggy bank

speakers

suction cup

ice scraper

earplugs

2 stroke oil

air compressor gauge

belt tensioner

clutch master adn reservoir (Should be a brake master. Not sure what from, I bought it from someone on the forum for a project and never used it.)

cut off bolt (That's a snapped off PPF bolt I pulled out of my Miata recently. Kind of a novelty that nothing else broke I guess.)

knob

welding rods

Flyin' Miata bottle opener. Sweet! (That's also a tool to hold the cams on a NA/NB miata while doing a timing belt job.)

Ford ign coil

Hot wheels cars

2 big nuts (Heh.)

shift handle from a ?  Miata? (I'm thinking mustang/thunderbird. Pretty sure that came out of the 2.3t I got for parts.)

Trim remover tool. Been wanting one of these!

scotch brite pad

zip ties

aluminum pulley (Also from the 2.3t Thunderbird parts I believe. I don't think it was mounted to anything, so I'm not sure what its intended purpose is. It's shiny though!)

magic trick kit

Thanks AWSX1686!

I really need to step up my game. Each year as I see what gets sent out and I think of things I should have put in but too late.

Added some comments in bold. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Alrighty, time to show off my loot! I'm not sure who mine is from at this point, but they sure did a good job!

Is this the proper way to show off my box and cover the address label?

The view inside:

Those glasses deserve a selfie. No shame here.

T-Shirts! Porshce, (BMW) ///M, and a Matco Tools. Unfortunately too small for me, even if I was a more appropiate weight. On the plus side, I can give them to my wife to wear. Hmm, wife in car shirts. Nice.

Next we can see a gand view of everything:

Zooming in, first off we have some sweet stickers and some sort of balast. Seems like some sort of artistic stone? I dunno.

Next up, the food. Cliff bar, flruit snacks, Arby's BBQ Sauce, Gravy, Gravy Mix, Tomato paste. Random, and hilarious! Also, some temporary hair color. (I will try this...) And a coozie with a fish on it.

Next we have some floppy disks, with a serial cable and manual. Possibly for some early standalone ECU type of thing?

Toy story PEZ dispensers, and some twizzlers.

Some cool (homemade?) tick-tack-toe boards.

Gasket material, LED strips, LED bulbs (which might be just what I needed fore the miata dash actually!), and a belt. Haven't looked up the belt yet. Also you can kinda see the tube of grease, and ping pong ball.

Some tiny gift bags, and a Nissan parts box.

A larger washer, and some cute snow man clothespins! Also not sure who is on the paper thing there, pretty sure it's from a TV show.

100' tape measure. Awesome! This will be put to use.

Some sort of coil module? Maybe related to those floppy disks? Also some vials with magnets on the tops.

And finally, my favorite part, and newest desk ornament: The sparkly blue piston!

Thanks again to whoever you are!

And it's on its way at last. Now to watch the long journey from rural nsw, Australia all the way to Connecticut. As always, I'll be sweating on customs being kind and the combined might and efficiency of both auspost and the USPS.

I was thinking... Maybe for the international guys, we should leave a note for the customs inspectors to help expedite our packages through the process.  Something along the lines of "No no, it's not what you think!  I can explain!"

I got my box in about a week ago but have not had the chance to more than peek inside with as much as has been going on. Once I'm finished cleaning up the house after work (we're putting up the two guest dancers for the upcoming show at our house as they're old friends of The Dancer) I'm hoping to have the time (and a clear table, for once) to do a proper unboxing and take pictures.

Mine went out for central OH on Sunday, so should have arrived or be doing so soon (never know with the holiday). I didn't have time to stalk who my recipient was, but hopefully they'll still enjoy the contents.

If things go remotely as I hope they do this year I'll have a LOT more interesting things to include next year!

I've been tempted, believe me. But I figure the guys and girls in customs have a pretty serious job, so just do my best to follow the rules and not draw any undue scrutiny to what I send. Unfortunately, it rules out things like, "rattle ok", "it's all bills fault, blame him" and "packed full of junk/crap" and other such funnies. Plenty of customs workers would see the funny side to our game I'm sure... But as with anything, there's always one killjoy or serious Sally who has to ruin the fun. Thankfully I'm running a bit late this year, so should benefit from being passed the Christmas rush and hopefully clear a Bit quicker.

I FEEL PERSONALLY ATTACKED

Not only did my gift-giver thoroughly stalk me and my builds, but they also offered their personal commentary on how little I've done on the car lately by sending me things I actually need to progress with my build.

You're a terrible, enabling person. And I love you. Here's the unboxing videos, complete with 8yo daughter squeals at the part of the package for her, my wife in some pretty risque lingerie, and me completely missing the fiat distributor and not knowing what the PittsburghBeast is. Google doesn't even know what the Pittsburgh Beast is.

My daughter loves the dream catcher and the watch - she tells us what time it is every 2.5 minutes now. This is the second year I've gotten Fiat parts in this game, and I'm really loving the way my car is becoming more of "our car". The car that GRM built. Thank you so much, now please reveal yourself!

YAY! laugh I was so happy reading this post and watching your video.
Not gonna lie, I did like 2mins of stalking. Once I linked your name to a s/n I hardly had to review because I have been following the build. I didn't think many of the parts would actually be useful(beyond the bucket shims), but they are all leftovers from my x1/9 project.
Previous research revealed the ignition module to be a Yugo part commonly retrofitted to the x1/9. I carried it as a roadside spare during Hot Rod Power Tour in 2018. If you decide you hate all that fancy fuel injection and whiz-bang computer controls on your car, you can use the module and carb to put things right LOL
I have no idea how long those calipers have been sitting. They may only be good cores at this point.

My daughter loves the dream catcher and the watch - she tells us what time it is every 2.5 minutes now.

I told Mrs. gumby I had seen your daughter in a couple build thread posts. She helped load the box with a few random around-the-house bits, and is glad your daughter likes the things we included for her. Too bad the black light bulb broke; I was afraid that might happen.

I think(hope) the Zips are blank
The sporks are extras from my '19 Challenge livery
The shirt is Beast Racecars(the shop I work for) located in Pittsboro, IN. If it is the wrong size, I hafta blame Bill.

All in, I don't think I could have pulled a better straw for my rookie year of the NYG! Happy New Year, and cheers to future years of mailing random junk to (kinda)strangers!

Header and both pulleys fit a Mazda 2.5. The other header wouldn't fit so someone else will get that one next year.
Someone told me White Pony was required for a party to be truly great. Somehow I don't think hasbro or any of the other big names will be interested in buying that game idea though. Also I found a few more of those mirrors last night searching for my soldering iron.

Loving all the opening posts so far, I am pretty jealous of the sparkly piston. My NEW New Years resolution might be to make one of those for myself.

Got mine mailed off on the 31st. Was feeling sheepish getting it off just ahead of the the deadline, now just relieved to see I wasn't the only one busy in December.

Mine is packed and ready to go, I haven't had any luck getting to the PO after work so it might not go out until tomorrow AM.  If you're in CA and still waiting I can only apologize for my tardiness.

I'll also post what I got this weekend after I get mine in the mail.
