1978 Fiat X 1/9 Needs new fuel pump and clutch line. New slave cylinder for clutch was installed. Vehicle is not driveable due to clutch line and fuel pump. Interior is in good condition. Excellent Tire Tread. Minimal/Usual rust on outside.
Does usual rust mean if I breath hard it will fall apart?
Its $500, go get it already.
Are you back yet........ that would be on my trailer and chained down on by now

'79 Fiat X1/9 - the only car I ever drove that prompted a girl shout me her phone number at a stop light.
Fuel pump is wicked easy, clutch line can't be that hard.
Looks pretty clean for Michigan.
If you need, I got wheels I could sell you for that X...
If that was closer, I would have gone got it! GET IT NOW!

Bet her father ran a rust prevention business

This is out in CA. Not much rust. The paint barely had any oxidation.

Don't forget the usual pinch of salt for CL ad diagnoses. Well, maybe not salt with the rust concerns...
That being said, go see it.
I would, and I would probably leave with a Fiat.
From what I have heard the rust on X1/9s should be fairly obvious unlike other Fiats.
E36 M3, i would buy that as a winter beater.
So how is your new to you Fiat?
Not a month ago I saw a Bertone with almost the EXACT same wording and problems listed on CL for Savannah, GA - at $1200. Odd to see the same issues like that, must be common.
so are fuel pumps and clutch lines made from unobtanium?
In reply to Grtechguy:
Does it matter? At $500, you can have a clutch line custom made and put a generic electric fuel pump on it and not hit $600... Not that I have any reason to think that either piece is unobtainium.
Fuel pumps are easy to come by; two hoses, two wires and almost anything off the shelf fits. It's Yugo fergodsake.
Funny thing. I click the link above, and it comes up with a totally different ad. for a Nissan. interesting.
If you want it, I hope you get it, and it's not a scam. I almost had one, and think I would have had a great time with it.
Clutch line is likely a bad master cylinder. The X-1/9's are prone to go through them if they sit for any time.
A 78 is a carb'd 1300 and would have a mechanical pump. A cheap Holley electric isn't hard to plop in place.
Also, I have a fuel injected 1500 sitting on the floor of my garage, available to anyone who wants it. Nice power bump and with MS, could be a bit more driveable.
why does link send me to an ugly maxima ad?

Jeebus. if that one on the bottom fetches even 2 grand, then flipping the one in the OP on ebay seems like a VERY good idea.
