TX to NC a few days before Christmas.  Are there any options anywhere in the market that don't charge a "drop fee" or one way fee?  These fees are 3x-5x my rental price.  Am I just not Googling hard enough?  What do you know?  Thanks.

Hi Crxpilot,

I'd call the rental companies directly.

I once got a 350Z one-way from Sky Harbor AZ to Bob Hope CA for $8.00 because Arizona was going into its hottest part of the year and the rental company needed to get a lot of their inventory out of state.

I don't believe the near free price was published on the rental company's website, it was an actual human that thought "pay to have the car shipped out or make a few dollars having a customer do it for me".

Good luck

I think the key here will be the phrase, "a few days before Christmas."  That and Thanksgiving will be the next big foreseeable high demand periods for rental cars.  So, due to generally low rental car supply and max demand, I'll bet the deals will be few.

How much for the smallest Uhaul rented one way?

Fly instead?
