This is pretty cool.
My son gave me this one for my birthday. I wasn't thrilled when I saw the price on Amazon...but this matches my 190e 2.6 16v Cosworth car...so I'm glad to have it.

Nice find!
Man, the more expensive 1/64 stuff is a slippery slope. It's easy to justify collecting these cars at a buck a piece, but this one's $25 and it's the tip of the iceberg of similar models I'd like:

You mean there might be an even better version of my Mazda 787B?!?
Found the Matchbox Top Gun sets, and got one of these: Aston-Martin DBR1
I'd like the lighter shade of British Racing Green, but this is one cool car. RHD, nice details. I may get a really fine chrome pen and some red and black paint and do a little more on it.

Totally! I've been detailing all of my cars and really enjoying how they turn out.

I almost walked past it. Then something about the BRG and the number jumped out at me.
Here's what the 5-pack looks like:
Awesome find! I wouldn't have noticed the Aston hidden at the top.
I can't believe they's ship a licensed "Top Gun" set with such a crummy model plane. I've had a similar crappy F-14 (-ish? -inspired?) Hot Wheels plane for at least 30 years--it's wild to see that casting still exists.
In reply to Carbon (Forum Supporter) :
That is one of my favorite castings.
The ony thing I can say about this is WOW:
i have the following.
nissan fairlady z
nissan skyline gtr
honda s2000
mazda rx-7
2009 gtr (r35)
if i can get some pics i will post them.
EDIT: those are just my jdm cars. have others. pics coming soon
In reply to Dieselboss15 :
Three were three generations of Mazda RX-7 sold in the US with the following chassis codes and model years: SA (1979-1985), FC (1986-1991), and FD (1992-1995). My personal favorite is the FD.
What are folks using for displays? I see a few cases on Amazon and whatnot, but the idea of spending as much per car on the case as I did for the cars bugs me for some reason. So before I go buy wood to build something on my own, I was wondering if anyone has found cheaper options.
Also for debate: in or out of the blister pack? Personally, I lean towards the former since my inner 10 year old wants to play with each car for a few minutes. Plus, cars in the blister packs are a little more of a PITA to store/display.
