I failed at locating the "What are you listening to" thread.

I was not involved in this project of Trevor's, as we pretty much do the same thing (and he's FAR more accomplished, obviously), but I respect his work immensely, I will say that Tori is working on some stuff with Lupe that will hopefully mirror this result.

Good to see Tori Amos still making music.  I had the privilege of seeing her twice in Richmond, VA back in the middle 90's--just her and that huge Bosendorfer grand piano.  While I am not familiar with Mr. Lamar's work, I feel that Ms. Amos has done a fine job with this song.

Thanks for posting this, it's fantastic! Always been a big fan of Tori and she sounds great here.

She's an immensely talented individual. I've had the pleasure of meeting her several times and learned a fair amount from her when she would return to Baltimore as she studied at MICA and the Peabody Institute and moved on from the area not long before I came into the scene. She was one of the forces in opening my ears to all music, not just what was easily consumable upon the initial listen. Which of course leads to breaking down composition and components of what you enjoy about a piece, regardless of genre. Then you have the tools to implement those aspects across any genre of your choice, which in turn allows you to open up various genres to new ears who wouldn't otherwise give it a listen. Cultivating audience through sharing of art, as opposed to commercialism.

You'll have to let me know next time you'll be coming through Baltimore and I'll check Peabody Institute's performance schedule for performances (there are 5-10 most weeks across various genres) I'll check to see what faculty is available that evening to meet up for cocktails prior to the performance as well.
