http://Need E36 lexan/plexi whatever windshield, are there any cheaper than $550?

Couple of things.  You do NOT want plexi.  It shatters and is dangerous for a windshield.

 

You want lexan / polycarbonate.  Probably AT least 3/16 inch thick.

 

If you plan to run wipers, use this long term, you want it to have a scratch resistant / UV resistant coating on it or tear-off.

 

I just put one in my racecar where I bought a sheet of coated polycarbonate and cut it to fit.

 

It was still around $400 for the 4 x 8 sheet.  Then, I bought the windshield buytl rubber to seal the windshield to the car.  That was around $50.  

 

So, expect to be out about $500 if you do it yourself and cut the shape yourself.

yes, it was a hill climb car, i am refreshing it to be  a HPDE car.
