I did TDT last night and was quite slow. Tonight is not promising for me, but I plan to give it a shot.

I slept like hot garbage last night and have been up since 4am... I should be in tip top shape for tonight.
Spa is a very challenging track... I'm pretty sure I couldn't string 8-10 laps together at my current best lap pace.
I'm still using the 911 out of the box, and still feeling there's a lot of time on the table. Eau Rouge is... difficult. Nowhere near flatout up the hill. Also still trying to find the perfect braking points into the chicane and Source.
Just for giggles, I looked up the 2019 24 hours of Spa, and the top 10 qualifying times were 2:18.5-2:19.0... don't know how that translates to AC?
From testing last week, it seems like my 911 is pretty fast at Spa. Eau Rouge is flat out if I approach it right. The hardest corner is the last super tight chicane, which is probably the case with most cars.
Rodan, we might be in the same car? I can share my setup with you if that is the case. Remind me.

I'm in the 2019 Sprint...
IMHO, the key to the chicane is just accepting how slow it is, and that there's no time to be made up there. My problem has been finding consistency on the brakes to get slowed down enough without blowing the entry.
Hmmm, I think mine is the 2016. You will have to talk to Dean, I think he is using that one also.
Yeah, just slowing down is likely the best way around that. Doing a bit of hillybilly traction control (shifting into 2nd instead of 1st) might be a good idea also.

Oh we had a power outage earlier give me a minut to re start it.
Looked to be one of my better showings. Tope 5 in the first race with somewhat competitive times. Then i threw it all away in the second. I must admit that i could have had one more spot in the second race if we had an extra 15 to 20 seconds so that I could drag Rodan? to the line from the final corner. Oh well maybe next time.
I will say this is good fun gang.
Thanks for all the help getting the cars and tracks properly downloaded on Wednesday. I started setting everything up at 630 cst and that you guys restarted the second race for me and I still couldn't get it all working properly until partway into the race was super frustrating but you were super cool about it. I'm really not trying to be a TCR jam car. I'm going to need to practice so I can get from last place to last place but not down a lap or three. looking forward to everything working the first time next week.

It had been a year-ish since I ran AC and I was really rusty coming in. So, I tried a few cars until I found one that roughly suited my driving style in game. My goal was to be consistent first, and fast(er) later. I ran the first couple weeks (including testing) in a completely stock setup until I was a consistent driver, and then have only really just started tuning the car to get faster. That would be my recommendation to you.. pick a car that you can drive consistently, and then just do that until you start finding the limits. Then start playing with tuning.
I wouldn't pick a car you like and then try and tune it into something you can drive. You'll just end up frustrated.

That was me with the McLaren 650S I really liked the car and was able to get a couple of consistent laps then i would through it away. When I moved to the Merc, I was quick out of the box and could get it to be competitive fairly quickly.
That basically happened with me that last race. I tuned that car in practice to try and make it fast. The first race I lost in on the 3rd corner. For the second race I just went back to the tune I started with which was clearly more stable.
Being able to drive it is far more important than being able to drive it fast. Once you are surrounded by cars, things get more difficult so don't tune them to the edge!

Sauce and I may be on tonight or over the weekend if you want to join us
My 911 started on the edge. I have managed to come to an agreement with it that I will avoid curbs and it will not crash me. The 911 is really fast and when you get it right it is a blast to drive but it is so unforgiving if you get it wrong. I like the challenge of it.

You may want to look at the NSX or the Lexus. Both are fast and both are easy to drive. Brad, Gameboy and Prodarwin are using these cars and I am sure they will share setups. From my understanding they both plow out of the box but you can tune that out and make them exceptionally well valences while not wanting to kill you.
Oh and if there are not enough of these cars in the server let me know I can add more. So there are enough for everyone.

+1
We have not agreed to stay off curbs, though... so it still tries to kill me occasionally.
Trying to learn RedBull Ring... 1st time driving it.

I tried to link the video you did of the race but it did not like it. The last lap with Colin and Sauce was great.

Im going to get on at some point this weekend to practice. though I am a fan of the 911 the only time Ive ever driven one well was in Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed. I do not have the experience in rear engined cars to be able to throw them around corners properly. Yet. I just need seat time and track time. Also instruction and probably someone else to drive the car for me. Other than that, I'm good.
