I am waiting to see what Air put together for the video as there was lots of great close racing this week.

I ran across this. Not relevant to what we are doing now, but the next time we run there, don't complain that it is too rough:
Yeah, except for that idiot in the blue car smashing into the kitty car (!).
I still don't really understand how he was braking earlier than me. One of us was likely just taking a very wrong line / braking point in that corner (it was always a pain for me to get good).
I suspect Drillin is feverishly practicing the layout he has picked and will wait until the last second to spring it on us.... sneaky that one....
It will be interesting to see what version Drillin picks, there are a lot. Essentially there is an East and West course (with variations) and of course there is the "Thunderschleife" which is apparently the longest road course in the US (4.6 miles)
Here is a link that shows the different configurations and some history: https://www.racingcircuits.info/north-america/usa/thunderhill-raceway-park.html
Here is a lap of the Thundershliefe in some sort (?) of tube framed car
I think the "what layout" decision needs to be made today to give people some time to get some laps in.
I think the one that is up there now, that we played with is the 3 mile East course.
The East course has the hill, so that is a good choice. There is also the 2 mile version, but that might be better for the Miata (!)
Oh, and as a note, the course does not stop you from skipping the Hill, but you are supposed to.
Also, if we want, it might be fun to allow the two last place cars to avoid the hill if they want. Maybe not on the first lap though.
The layout that should produce the most whining noises from the miata is the 3 mile East course. So we'll go with that one . Unfortunately I will miss this week so it'll have to be my drop week. Steely Dan rescheduled their 2020 concert to this Wednesday and we've had the tickets since pre-sale.
It should be an interesting end to the season whatever happens.
Should be a fun race tomorrow. I did not get a chance to practice tonight but yesterdays laps should help.
Points wise, the last 2 races are pretty close, but victory is effectively a 3 horse race, with one horse with a good lead, but a very fat jockey!
Sauce is +5 on Colin and Drillin' is only one behind that. Since there is a 4 point spread between 1st and 3rd, that could change pretty quick. Sauce taking on any more weight would have to be pretty brutal.
Looked up the Aston Martin AMR-1:

Was thinking of the AMR-Pro:

Slightly different animals. I was getting really tired last night. The Ferrari I left on the 2nd server is run. We need to get a collection of those to race.
There is a YouTube channel called GpLaps and he is big in to this kind of car in AC. I need to go back and see what car packs he uses. He recreates many of the 50s F1 races.
In case you are wondering Drillin. We skipped the week so we have a full pool next week. So yes, you will need to run Thunderhill.
Anyone have any experience at Gingerman or Blackhawk farms? One of our previous racers is working on making versions of those tracks. I mentioned to him that we can review them for accuracy if he wants.
Hay Air can you post up the intro to your videos on Google drive? I want to see if I can put something together and keep them the same as your format.
With the heat we are having I am probably going to be on tonight messing with AC. Too dam hot out to do anything.
You'll need to log in to post.
