Oops, post update mess up.
Here's a picture of the, new to GT6, Dino:
Oh, and from what I hear, you can drive the Lunar Rover on the freaking moon. How cool is that?
It will most likely not be included in original release, but they are developing a track creator that works with Google Earth so that you can create your own courses based on existing roads and topography...
Another nice aspect of the new one (that I noted in the GT5 thread) is they are eliminating experience points (and I assume levels) as well as the Used Car Lot.
This means all cars should be available at all times, it's just a mater of cost, so you should be able to dive right into the classics.
I kinda wish Gran Turismo would go the direction that IRacing has. Let me purchase cars and race tracks off the internet. And cripes, give me some real competition in the offline game. I either crush them or they crush me. Is there not a way that the AI could "learn" my lap time and race with me at the same speed?
I am pretty sure there is still a used car lot. Some people already have their hands on the game and there is much discussion already over at gtplanet.net
I read about the track editor and shared a link in the racing series thread last week. supposed to work with your gps on your smart phone or whatever, drive a route and map out a "track" essentially. not sure how accurate it will really be, but if it works it should be fun none the less.
Hey, maybe i will finally get involved with the GRM Gran Turismo racing 'scene'. Yay!
I have liked every game in the series by differing amount. There's no doubt every single version has been worth the cost from an hours to dollars ratio point of view.
Although i am still confused as to how 2 had worse graphics than 1.
I'm excited about several key features:
New physics. The GT6 demo was great, hopefully the game is just as good or better.
The GPS course designer
The GT arena and setting up autocross courses. This would be good for testing courses you might run at a local autocross to see how it flows.
No more fricking driver/car levels!
glad there's no car/driver levels and I hope the "standard cars" look a lot better.
Plus with the new GPS course designer, I hope it has altitude and all of that. I marked off a couple of the initial D locations on my phone map, should make for some fun roads in addition to all of the roads featured in Top Gear.
RE: standard cars.
Many have been updated and look much nicer. Some just marginally better. Skip over all the chatter and there are a lot of comparison screenshots in this thread. http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/standards-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly.291012/page-21#post-9025105
Here's a road I want to drive in real life in South Korea:
It just means next time we go visit SWMBO's family I'll need to remember the international driver's licence.
There's that Daewoo of death guy on here, you should take video so I can vicariously drive it through you!
I can't wait to map out some local roads, and a few select stretches of highway.
Who hasn't wondered how much faster a Veyron would be over their daily while commuting?

You have your mission, if you choose to accept it.
I am very close to mullholand and the various canyon roads.
Decker canyon is more of a kart track then a race track though!

I hope you guys enjoy one of my personal favorites from the last 2 Forza games.....can you guys do engine swaps? Mine in Forza rocks the 360 challenge engine. Fun car.
In reply to Duke:
I bought gt4 as my last game for the PS2.....I logged tons of hours in it and we even had a "Post a picture of you fastest lap time screenshot" competition on teckademics. GT4 came out something like a year and a half after when it was supposed to, and deadlines would pass with absolutely zero word from polyphony. To my dismay, I initially bought a ps3 expecting gt5 to be out soon, but they released the prelude instead. In that time, I shelved my ps1and bought a 360 with Forza 2. It was about the same as GT4, but the level of customization was incredible. I bought GT5 when it finally came out but found myself preferring the vehicle modifications/tuning setup of FM3. FM4 was truely on par if not exceeding GT5 in terms of sim racing. Turn all assists off and you have a legitimate sim racer that you can tune about everything on the car. I personally wouldn't mind trying GT6, but its too little to late for me to buy another Sony console and game. No matter how tempted I am by the PS only title "The Last of Us"
Why u gotta make it a forza vs gt thread? I hate forza. Still gunna wait. Even tho this gps track creator aounds awesome. I could finally race river road all out.
In reply to yamaha:
If you had a PS3 for GT5, you don't need a new Sony console for GT6. For some reason, it's on PS3, so I also have no motivation to buy a new Sony console...
In reply to Rufledt:
I sold the console/games right around the time FM4 came out.
Jax, I wasn't trying to make it a FM vs GT thread.....I was explaining why I did what I did for Duke to settle his jab about it. The first part of my last post was actually a "I'm glad you guys finally get to enjoy this car"
I just recently got GT5 after having forza 4 for a year, and it feels like coming hone. I just like the way Gran Turismo drives with a controller better.
I hope GT6 with the new physics engine still drives like Gran Turismo.
If the GPS track maker is real, looks like I will have to hit up Hwy BB on the south side of Warrensburg. And, if someone could be so kind, map out Hwy 2 and Soledad Cyn in SoCal. Those would be fun, long segments.
