They good and solid little cars. They have a following too, so you could probably sell it for a profit in the right place too if you didn't want to rallycross it.
Thanks in part to rallycross events coming to his neck of the woods, user shagles went on the hunt for a worthy rallycross weapon within budget. After scouting E30s, FC RX-7s and AW-11 MR2s, a buddy came forward with a 1996 BMW 318ti affectionately called the Kräppewagen; $1300 later, the deal was done.
So far, shagles has been working on getting the 318ti properly repaired and in good running order for rallycross, including battling gremlins like a bad crankshaft position sensor that put the engine into a 3500-rpm limp mode.

Fun little cars. Loved the few I drove over the years. Too bad they never came to the US with the 6 standard. I know it's a pretty easy drop in but just don't have the time for it.
Hey cool! Yeah i love that little car. Between it and the 09 128i, i'd be more likely to sell the 128 at this point.
