It looks like soo much room that the headers would just fall in.
I assure you that is NOT the case. But they fit great! Thanks furious_e!

Don't forget about the front bumper I've got for you.
Great progress on the truck. Need your motivation level to get more of my projects done.

Once the trans is done and tested, first real road trip in that truck is going to be to your house to pick it up. I'm really looking forward to it.
To add the the "we all love Michael" bandwagon, when I read these threads (and I always do) I think I could be this good if I just worked harder, which I don't, but I could. And I also really like sitting down with his family to eat dinner.
In reply to mazdeuce - Seth :
You need to come eat dinner again. Please! We loved your company!
And thanls all. Really helping my head space.
Today is a wash. Got all the header bolts in, cooler lines hooked it, starter in, torque converter bolted to the flexplate, dipstick, some seals, oil filter, a crossmember that doesn't hit everything and force the trans too high, etc.. but i feel like E36 M3, so we pushed it off the lift in preparation for Sunday family lunch, and cleaned up the shop. Tomorrow and next week are another day.
Anyone need a sbc 4l60e flexplate and torque converter cover? I haveextras, and the flexplate is brand new but not worth the return shipping to rockauto.

I'll see if I can put you a parts pile together to take back home with you.
Oil dipstick and plug wore boots took longer than expected. But done.
Cheap boots are a PITA. Hopefully they work.
In reply to 759NRNG (Forum Partidario) :
Im pretty happy with it for being a premade set that wasn't even for 90 degree plug ends that i cut up and modified and then reran through headers....
They look almost like i planned it ahead of time!
Today's update:
Plug wires, dipsticks done. Engine bay mostly reassembled, except for the ac system and overflow bottle.
All the wiring changes for the trans swap is done. Bothe trans end and pcm end. Hopefully its right, as there are a TON of wrie up with the same trans information, and very few with tbe pcm end specific to the 7427 ecm.
I drilled the ywo holes further back in the frame for the trans crossmember, and then went to install the y pipe to check and see if the oxygen sensor wiring was long enough.
And then quit. Y pipe fits beautifully between the trans pan and crossmember. Unfortunately, the crossmember is about an inch too far forward near as i can tell. Shouldn't have drilled the holes yet.
But, theres solution. Im not sure if that's moving the crossmember, or chopping a couple inches out of the parallel portions of the y pipe and splicing back together.
Ive decided im cutting and band clamping for now. I already have the band clamps from the parts truck, so thats a win!
Also, im REALLY looking forward to seeing the billet wheels cleaned up and installed. Have a couple ideas for them.
When you say you're headed out to the shop to put new headlight bulbs in does your wife expect the vehicle to look like the pic above in the next 2 hours?
In reply to Justjim75 :
In my defense, that is the only way I can change the bulbs on my mazda6 and her mazda5, so.....
Last night i got the trans cooler, new condenser, outside teml sensor, etc in. Drilled a hole in the firewall, pit a grommet in. Now i have a spot to pass through the wiring and such fir anything i want to add in the truck. Within reason.
I only have some trans seals, a filter, and fluid to add before test firing the engine to make sure everything still works, and to get a heat cycle in, then check nuts and bolts, add new chip and driveshaft and exhaust, and test drive.
Looking forward to open header noises, maybe today!
So, ill leave you with a picture of stripping clearcoat.
Had to take a night "off " last night. Been at it hard.
So, spent fifteen minutes or so testing a spot on a wheel.
Just mag and aluminum polish on a foam cone really didn't make a difference.
Worn out 1000, 1500, and then 2000 wet sandpaper followed by the mag and aluminum polish on the worn out foam cone got me here.
Still not the surface i want, but the right direction. So i ordered 1000-7000 grit paper and new buffing cones.
Should probably test fit first though....
These popped up local. I thought you'd appreciate them :) Fwiw they are 15x8s and 15x10s and they are indeed chevy 5x5
Also: it ran!
It holds trans fluid!
The oil cooler leaks like a motherberkeleyer at the adapter to block junction.
I measured the driveshaft wrong. And its way too long and has to be remade.
The 2.5 band clamps i had? Apparently are 2.75
Not a great night in the shop, but still a win for it running fine right off.
I can't see the wheels that JThw8 has mentioned. I'm kind of interested in whatever he's found here.
Good deal on hearing the truck run. Sounds like a lot of little details to go.
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael (Forum Supporter) :
a bit on the pricier side at $500 but supposedly come with centercaps, and lug nuts. Full details from ad
"Centerline billet wheels, tires, center caps and lug nuts. Fronts 15x8 with 3” bs 225/60r15 Rears 15x10 with 5” bs 275/50r15 $500 gets em."
They are in town here so if you need eyes on them let me know and I can pop out to their place after work one night
Oof. We'll wait and see if he comes down
Thats too rich for me right now.
I appreciate it though! I love my billet wheel addiction
In reply to pres589 (djronnebaum) :
Lots of little details is right. Very upset about the driveshaft though. Paying twice was not the plan, nor having to wait on it.
Truck is ALMOST mobile to pull on and off the lift under its own power. Almost. Just needs a driveshaft and some tweaks.

Unlike some of the others I can appreciate your addiction, on the right build they look great. These dont fit anything I own but I saw the ad an thought of your billet addiction so I had to share :)
