I really don't like indecisiveness. I hate it when it's me.
This has been a harder decision than I thought it would be. I'm more emotionally attached to this car than I realized.
The Exocet sounds like a LOT of fun. But I can't get past the fact that the end result is really not a car I want to own.
So, I was really leaning heavily toward enabling another GRMer to build an awesome Challenge car.
In the end...
...it's Option #4. I have decided to rebuild it.
Bottom line for me is that it's a car I really enjoy, and would like to keep.
So, this has just officially become a build thread!
Step 1 will be to pickup the new tub.
Unfortunately, that will take some effort. The tub is 2 hours away, but the subframes I will need to roll it around are 3 hours the opposite direction!
Then there is the not-so-little issue that my trailer is piled high with stuff that needs to be be delivered 2 hours in a THIRD direction, before I can load the tub on the trailer!!

Remind me where you are and where are the parts? Iirc, you are somewhere in / near sc.

I work in Macon GA.
I live in Jackson GA, and that's where the red car is.
My trailer is in Macon, but the load needs to go to Phenix City AL.
The tub is in Danielsville GA.
The subframes are in Lexington SC.
Check a map. It's a mess!! Haha!
So, step 1 is across 3 states and will take a couple weeks to accomplish.

Another bit of happy news...
I'm renovating a car dealership, and mostly stay in a nearby hotel during the week. I'm usually killing time for a few hours every evening.
These 2 garage bays at the dealership are currently non-functional, and will remain that way for the next several months.
The dealership has agreed to let me use the bays for a few months.
That means I can reclaim the time every evening, and hopefully actually make some progress on this!
That makes me happy!

Those are commercial garage bays, with no wall between. It's a full 30' wide.
Plenty of space for 2 disassembled Miatas.

It also saves me from suggesting you sell it to me, but ship it to Pete in Canada. I then ship Pete my crusty 1800ES. Pete does... unspeakable things to both... after I send him a bunch of $$$... and we get another interesting Molvo Mk 2 build thread.

Well, unfortunately it's not as happy an ending for some other folks on this forum.
I feel like I owe a few people apologies for getting them excited about buying it from me.
It wasn't easy.
It's not actually progress, but movement has happened.
I finally got the trailer load of stuff delivered to Phenix City AL, so I now have an empty trailer in Macon GA again. Tonight I will head to SC to pick up the sub-frames, then hopefully pickup the tub this weekend.
It won't feel like progress until I have the pieces in one place, but movement has begun!

So far, 590 miles to start gathering the parts in one place! Haha!
Looks like I found this at the right time! It's gonna be fun to follow this one. Awesome you could make a deal to get access to work space, good luck with the project!
Another 214 miles... that make 804 so far!
The next step was to pick up the tub.
First and foremost, I want to give a huge applause to Hasbro! He's a totally cool guy, and the best part of picking up the tub was eating pizza and beer and just hanging out with him!

So, this tub was one I formally owned. I was the one who stripped it, so I was intimately familiar with it. It's condition is nearly flawless.
Taking on a project like this, I didn't want to buy an unknown parts car and start taking it apart only to find rust or damage. I wanted a known condition tub.
I contacted Hasbro and asked if he might be ready to part with it, and he made a very favorable and generous deal.
