These really are special cars. C5 Corvette performance (400 supercharged horsepower) with civilized manners, four doors and comfortable seating for four. I still get comments on it just about every where I go.
SWMBO would love one for herself, if she didn't need to have the people moving capacity of our Van.

A replacement fender likely would do it, based this description from the seller :
"Up until sometime last week, it was a beautiful car. Someone hit it last week and has slight damage on the passenger side fender near the head lamp. Hit and run. Totally sucks. So, that's the whole story. If you want pictures, I can post.”
This would make an excellent fly and drive to the challenge. Not quite ready to commit to taking that much time off work.
I have a co-worker who's expressed interest, so I reached out to the seller for some info. In now have his contact information, so PM me (and post a note here) if you want his phone number. Let's see who grabs it first.....

I don't think you'd be disappointed with this car. It's a huge step up in performance (at least straight line) and luxury compared to a Miata.

It would be a slightly longer trip this time, but I am so down for enabling. You're welcome to the guest room.
So, I spoke to the owner today. Cool guy, very close to where I'm working. I even found a Jaguar salvage yard in Texas with a replacement fender in a matching color that one could pick up on the way to the challenge.
As I started contemplating possible liveries, I realized the challenge is next weekend and I won't be home until the weekend after. I still want it and plan to take a look at it, but if you're going to take this thing to the challenge I'll happily stay the hell out of the way or even try to help facilitate that deal.
