Always wanted a Super 8. I have only seen two in person.
I have been keeping an eye out for a early tin top XK with a bad motor. I want to do a LS swap in one. Ya I know but to me it seems to be begging for a LM4. Get the peddles and the center console from an Aston and go manual trans if you want. (The supercharged I 6 version of this car that Aston sells is a bucket list car for me). Tyler Hoover has one for sale if it has not sold already that I really want.
Top it off with a nice understated exhaust note.
I seriously think that you could make a business out of swapping LS motors in to semi modern British cars

Your last statement made me think of my 2006 XJ8 Vanden Plas. After enjoying a couple of XJ6's over the years, I bought a used VP in 2010. I had the usual driving experience, you know, listening, smelling, etc. wondering what was going to fail next. Surprisingly, nothing ever broke. The back end finally gave out at 80,000 miles, when a truck rear ended me during a traffic tie up on I-95 in Jacksonville. Great cars! I was sorry to see it go.
If you choose to get one, join the local British car group. They will know a wrench turner who can keep the car in good order, and not demolish the trust fund.
Update. I found her a nice clean XJ8 15 minutes from home. It's the best one I've found. The paint is nice, the upholstery is nice, and it doesn't have a ton of miles. Thanks for all the help.
