Howdy hive,
Looking for help picking up, disassembling and then shipping via something like Greyhound a specialist wheelchair from Helena.
It's being sold by a family who's child has gone into hospice so they can't do any of the legwork. My friend who has an awesome young daughter in need of this buggy/chair is located in Virginia.
I can pay for the shipping of course and probably work out something for your time as necessary.
These things are pretty special so I'm asking for someone who's competent mechanically for the dissembly and packaging for shipment.
Any ideas?
I'll ask my brothers in Montana if they know anyone in Helena to get in touch with.
Worthy endeavor your undertaking here.
I'm too far away, but perhaps there's a children's hospital nearby that has a connection. Other suggestions are (think charities):
- Knights of Columbus
- Shriners
- Lions Club
- Local (to the area) Church
- Make a Wish foundation
- Car Clubs nearby
If anyone is near Wisconsin, I might be able to help get you something much quicker.
In my garage, I have a kid's wheelchair that we were given to my niece years ago. my brother never got around to doing anything with it. It needs a battery for sure and a good cleaning and going though the wiring. Not sure if mice might have chewed wiring or not. For a good cause, I am sure if some of the crew on here might be willing to relay we might be able to get this down there sooner and you can have it if nothing else, and pay for gas for a few folks.
I am on the WI/IL border 20 minutes west of Kenosha.
It looks like there's a bunch of wheelchair/accessibility companies in Helena MT. I'd see what they'd charge for pickup, packaging and shipping.
