TIL: Chevy has a documented process in the service manual for indexing an oil dipstick.

I loved the movie but I didn't think it'd work , pleasantly surprised
I was profoundly meh about the movie.

TIL unicorns are cheap in Canada!

Really?
I liked it a lot, different sort of idea and done pretty well IMO
In reply to Adrian_Thompson (Forum Supporter) :
Just about any Kia/Hyundai was available as a manual, usually the 6spd, and Canadians bought them, especially in Quebec
TIL that I can adjust the playback speed of some of the training videos I have to watch for work... they've far less annoying and actually quite amusing at 2x speed, and I still can understand and follow it. I'm glad it doesn't go any faster than 2x speed, that would get dangerously close to BlipVert territory...

Just 50/50 regular flour and coconut flour?
Yes. We make them from scratch every now and then and if you substitute half the flower for coconut flower they are really good.

Yeah. It was OK and I didn't want my time back, or anything, but when I saw ads for the TV series, my first reaction was Really? What for?!
Wow, you didn't know that? He's also Karl Hungus in Big Lebowski.
And the dude running the Whisper Chipper in Fargo.
He's one of my favorite actors.
He’s one of those actors so versatile he’s been in everything and you don’t know it. He’s also not, despite what you may think, a fan of pancakes.
TIAL - how to properly ditch a TBF Avenger. I suspect the pilot will get grief for plopping it down that close to swimmers, but his technique is impressive:
In reply to kazoospec :
Yeah, that was pretty wild. If it wasn't for the tourists, it would look like footage from the South Pacific circa 1944.
In reply to kazoospec :
I comforted myself that anyone rich enough to own an airworthy TBF is also rich enough to have it completely disassembled, rinsed, dried, lubricated, and reassembled.
TIL what goes on inside of one of these things:
Somehow, it's both simpler and more complicated than I had expected.
It's like a tiny little carburetor.
TIL that Ford will sell you a truck or RV chassis (very similar) in a range of GVWRs and wheelbases with no body at all. I'm not sure how ridiculous it would be trying to adapt an old C-series or N-series cab onto one, given that it's got, you know, everything but the seat already placed for the driver... And of course the interior would be all wrong.
Okay, fine, I'd probably rather just try to modernize the engine/transmission/axles on an old one, but it's still an interesting thing.
TIL if you unplugged your NA miata headlight motor don't plug it back in with your arm under it. Hurts when it closes on your arm.
In reply to Stampie :
Those sort of things have more torque than you might want in situations like that. Beware wiper linkages too.
