Ya ya ya and it was part of Episode 7... and you know we like number 7....and... No...cool idea... but if we have another sponsor fender banner thing that won't work.
I'm gonna have to take one more stab at expressing my awe, envy, and sheer "golly you guys are cool can I sweep the shop floor" in meme form.

We like help. After the quarantine please feel free to stop by and help (and no you won't be relegated to broom duty). We are nobody special. Just two car dudes working on a silly car project so we can race with some of the cool kids.
So how do you weld the beautiful painted parts together without destroying the paint? How do you manage the heat?
Im asking as thers some welding needed on my duster thats a fully complete car and i don't want to wreck the paint.
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael :
The answer is you can't. You have to remove the paint, weld, sand, and then spot it back in.
Dusterbd13-michael said:Do you do anything to limit the amount of paint destruction?
TiG welding CM has to be done 3/8" to 1/2" at a time or you over heat the CM and make it crack prone. That said, you don't put so much heat into the metal that the painted area is effected in the large areas around a MS/MiG weld. A properly welded CM cage is an extremely slow effort.

I'm really liking the look of a topless 1G DSM!
I asked. Calvin said, "NO!" I was joking. He was serious.....very serious.
Just to ask, when did you think about the anchor boxes in the garage floor? That is a brilliant idea!

Not enough turbo for the Challenge. Post Challenge and post budget restraints......we are preparing for that goal. The Challenge turbo is an S475 off of a Detroit for $125. Post Challenge we know we will need an S480 or better. Good news is we have the T6 inlet already installed.

That section of floor was poured flat flat flat so we can scale and straighten things.
we actually pulled a 0.5 degree twist out of the car before rewelding the cage back in.

Yeah. I'm not a big convertible guy. All the safety specs go up when you have a convertible (for good reason). Also, they have terrible Aero numbers.
Race Car: clean, sleek, light, simple.

Make sure you make a plate cover 1/4" or 3/8" or the jack wheel will find it every time
